DALINDA BOHR

Principal Viola

Dalinda C. Bohr currently teaches at Central Dauphin East High School in Harrisburg, PA. where she instructs the high school orchestra program and teaches guitar. Mrs. Bohr previously taught the Conestoga Valley School District . In 2009, she achieved certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in the area of Orchestra: Early Adolescence Through Young Adulthood. A 1999 graduate of Lebanon Valley College, Dalinda earned a B.S. Music Education with Honors, B.A. Music and a minor in German. As an undergraduate, Dalinda was instructed on both violin and viola from Dr. Johannes Dietrich. In 2006, she completed her Masters of Music Education degree also from LVC. She also earned a Masters Degree in Music Technology from Valley Forge Christian College in 2012. She continues to play both violin and viola professionally as a freelance musician throughout the region.

As a guest conductor, Mrs. Bohr conducted the Lancaster-Lebanon County Festival Orchestra (2003) as well as the Central Dauphin Elementary Honors Orchestra (2003, 2017) . She was the guest conductor for the Central Dauphin Middle School Honors Orchestra (2006, 2013), the PMEA District 7 Youth String Festival Orchestra (2009, 2017) and the Berks County Jr. High Orchestra.

An active member of PMEA, Dalinda hosted the PMEA District 7 Orchestra Festival in 2003, 2005 and 2011 and has served as the PMEA District 7 Curriculum Instruction Chair and HS Representative from 2010-2016. She also served on the Pennsylvania-Delaware Chapter of the American String Teachers Association from 2003 – 2016. During her tenure on the PADESTA Board she was recognized as Orchestra Director of the Year in 2015 and for Distinguished Service (Individual) in 2016.

For the past 18 years, she has been the string teacher for Lebanon Valley College Summer Music Camp. Dalinda also teaches an intergenerational ensemble for beginner-intermediate musicians of any age at the Community Music Institute of Lebanon Valley College.
