FAQ
Q. WILL YOU ATTEND OUR DRESS REHEARSAL?
A. Yes, we will but it is quite unnecessary and expensive. We perform at weddings so often that we have a good idea of how to make things run smoothly. We also arrive thirty minutes early to go over cues prior to the prelude. We will make sure the music is long enough to get you down the aisle, but not so long you must wait.
Q. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO RESERVE OUR DATE?
A. We ask for fifty percent of the total bill, paid when the contract is received. The remaining balance will be due the day of the event.
Q. WILL YOU WORK WITH A VOCALIST/ORGANIST FROM OUR FAMILY/CHURCH?
A. Yes we will. We have often performed with vocalists and organists for wedding ceremonies. We will arrive early the day of the ceremony to rehearse with the musicians you added. All repertoire must be selected one month in advance.
Q. WHAT IS THE ATTIRE FOR THE ENSEMBLE?
A. The gentlemen wear tuxedos and ladies wear black or black and white, much like a symphony concert.
Q. HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO YOU NEED THE SET SHEET RETURNED?
A. Generally, we only need the set sheet one month prior to the event. However, if you are requesting a piece we do not own, the sooner, the better, as we will need to arrange it. The set sheet is designed to help you structure your event. Please also email us a copy of your final program, so that we know some of the details prior to our arrival.
Q. DO WE NEED TO FILL OUT THE ENTIRE SET SHEET?
A. No. You may fill in as little or as much as you like. This is your event and we want to make it as unique to you as possible. However, if it does not matter to you, leave a section blank and we will fill in with whatever we feel appropriate.
Q. WHICH ENSEMBLE WILL WORK BEST FOR MY SETTING?
A. There are a few items to consider when answering this question. The quartet is going to produce the most sound, which is particularly beneficial for large or open spaces, such as outdoor events. Most standard repertoire is also written for the quartet, so the quartet will sound the fullest. However, sometimes we realize budget is a concern and thus a smaller ensemble will suit better.
Q. WHAT DO I NEED TO HAVE AT THE EVENT LOCATION?
A. The only item we really need is chairs. If the space is dark, we need to be near a receptacle to plug in our lights. If we are outside, please have us seated in a shaded location. Also, please have a rain location ready, as we cannot perform in the rain, due to the value of the instruments.
Q. DO WE NEED TO MEET PRIOR TO THE EVENT?
A. This is up to you. Most people now set up the entire event via email or phone. However, we are more than happy to sit down with you and meet face to face if you are more comfortable with that setup.
Q. WILL YOU PLAY SOMETHING NOT IN YOUR REPERTOIRE?
A. Absolutely! We love learning new material and have a resident arranger on staff. There is typically an arranging fee if it is a piece we do not already own.
